  Department Capabilities and Equipment

At current the department has 39 Fire Fighters. 4 of these are licensed EMT's. We have an additional company of 12 EMT's that do strictly rescue work.

Our staff is made up of 4 fire companies. Each has a Captain, Lieutenant, Engineer and 5 to 6 fire fighters. There are 2 EMT's on call with each fire company.

The department has an additional Captain and Lieutenant of Rescue and a Captain that heads the Investigative, Inspection and Records section.

We have two Certified Building Inspectors on staff.

In house equipment includes a SCBA compressor to support 14 SCBA units.

We have our own back-up dispatch center with page capabilities. We have scanning radios in each unit along with two additional scanning portable radios in each Engine and Ladder truck. We just acquired a Snow Trail rescue Sled.

We have 2 cold water Survival Suits.

1995 Pierce "Dash" Aerial. Allison Auto Trans. and Detroit 400 hp engine 100' Medium Duty Pierce Ladder, Waterous 1500 GPM pump.

Salvage 605

1998 GMC Walkin 18' body. Locally constructed interior to include, Hurst Rescue Tools, SCBA Cascade, 4 SCBA packs and 8 Spare SCBA Bottles. 4 portable radios, Positive Pressure Unit, Power Saws, Grass Fire Equipment. Power Air Lift rescue bags.

1979 Chevy 1 ton 4 by 4, 200 gallon water tank, 250 gpm pump, Generator with 4 extra scene lights. Specialized grass fire unit.

1982 GMC Brigadier with a 1984 Pierce body, Waterous 1000 gpm pump and 750 gallon tank, Allison Auto Trans. Detroit 275 HP engine

1978 Ford Louisville 9000 Chassis, 1978 Pierce body, Waterous 1250 gpm pump, 750 gallon water tank, Allison Auto Trans. with a Detroit 330 HP engine

Tanker 609

1982 GMC 7000 with a 1986 Monroe 2000 gallon water tank, 366 V-8 Gas Engine and 5 speed manual with 2 speed Eaton axle

1975 Ford C-900 Chassis with a 1989 Newton 2000 gallon tank, Ford 534 V-8 Gas Engine, 5 Speed man with 2 speed Eaton Axle.

1989 Pierce " Dash " pumper. Allison Auto Trans. and Detroit 295 hp engine. Waterous 1250 GPM pump with a 750 Gal., water supply.
