The City of
Algoma needs a fulltime employee to assist the Recreation Director with all
activities at our Youth Club, Community Building, and City Parks. Ideal
applicants will be flexible, organized, enjoy working with people of all ages,
and have experience in maintaining facilities, machinery and equipment. This
individual will be responsible for cleaning and maintaining the Parks and
Public Buildings, snow removal, garbage removal, small repairs and maintenance
on Parks & Recreation equipment, lawn maintenance, preparing a variety of
fields for sports activities, assisting with Recreation Department activities
and serving as formal back-up to the Recreation Director.
Successful candidates will be able to perform all aspects of the job and need
to be outgoing, flexible, organized, and resourceful. The Recreation
Assistant is a non-exempt, fulltime position; salary negotiable based on
experience. Hours for the job are flexible driven by recreation schedule and
will include some nights and weekends.
