  • Mission Statement - The mission of the Algoma Police Department is to enhance the quality of life for those living in the City of Algoma by providing quality law enforcement service to the community, through fairness, integrity and professionalism, promoting a safe environment through law enforcement and citizen interaction, and by the equitable enforcement of the laws of the City of Algoma and the State of Wisconsin within the framework of the Constitution of the United Stated.
 
  • Location/Information - The Algoma Police Department is located in the City Hall Building at 416 Fremont Street and operates 24 hours a day.  Emergency service for police, fire, and rescue can be obtained by calling 911.  This number is answered in the Kewaunee County Sheriff's dispatch center.
 
  • Business Hours - The Police Department has business hours from 7:30 AM to 4:30 PM Monday thru Friday.  Appointments can be made for any other times including Saturdays and Sundays.  The telephone number at the Police Department is 920-487-3311 and if there is no answer, a voice mail can be left and you will be contacted as soon as possible.

  • Services - The Police Department offers the following services to the Public:    

    • Title transfers and temporary plates can be purchased and all information will be mailed to DOT for a $5.00 service charge.  

    • Boat, Snowmobile and all Terrian Vehicle Applications.

    • Fingerprinting for different types of licensing.

    • Neighborhood Watch Program.

    • CounterAct Program in the Schools.

    • Stranger Danger Programs.

    •  Bike Licenses - $3.00 for a one time purchase.

 
  • Bikes - The Police Department  has a large number of unclaimed bikes in our possession that are for sale at a reasonable cost to the consumer.  If your bike is lost or stolen contact the Police Department to see if your bike is in our garage.
 
  • Driver Examiners - The Driver Examiners from the DOT are at the American Legion Building located at 94 Clark Street on the 1st, 2nd, and 4th Wednesday of the month from 9:00 AM to 4:15 PM.  Call 487-3767.
 
  • Dog Pound - The City operates a Dog Pound and it is located behind the City Garage at 1520 Jefferson Street.  Problem with animals contact the Police Department at 920-487-3311 or the Animal Control Officer
