Vehicle Registration

The Algoma Police Department will process new registration and renew vehicle registration during the following hours at the Police Department:

Monday - Friday 7:00 A.M. - 7:00 P.M.

Saturday 7:00 A.M. - 6:00 P.M.

PLEASE MEET THE FOLLOWING REQUIREMENTS BELOW BEFORE MEETING WITH AN OFFICER!

To Register a Vehicle You Will Need The Following:

	Completed title
	Clean Title (If you HAD a lean on the title please make sure to bring in the lean satisfaction stamp paperwork)
	Drivers License
	Exact Cash Amount or Check *CREDIT CARDS ARE NOT ACCEPTED*

Fees

Title - $69.50

Licensing Fee -

Auto - $75.00

A Truck - 4500 Pounds - $75.00

B Truck - 6000 Pounds - $84.00

C Truck - 8000 Pounds - $106.00

Electronic Filing - $19.50

State Sales Tax 5%

(The amounts above are for a standard passenger car.)

The minimum amount for registration and new plates is $164.00 (sales tax is not included)

To Renew A Vehicle You Will Need:

The Vin Number and Current Plate Number

Electronic Filing Fee - $10.00

Minimum for Renewal - $85.00
