Now Hiring: City Treasurer

The City of Algoma, Wisconsin is pleased to announce the recruitment and selection process for their next City Treasurer. The City Treasurer works under the direction of the City Administrator, however the employee is expected to exercise independent judgment at all times. The primary purpose of this position is to perform the duties and responsibilities specified in Wisconsin Statutes and provides general administrative support in most City functions. The City Treasurer must routinely interact with residents and members of the public in a courteous and respectful manner.

NOTICE OF A POSSIBLE QUORUM

In compliance to the State of Wisconsin Open Meetings Law requirements, public notice is hereby given that members and a possible quorum of the City Council and Public Works Committee along with City staff and various City committee, commission, and board members may be in attendance for a Pre-construction Meeting as it relates to the 2023/2024 Utility & Street projects for Division Street. The meeting is being hosted by the City’s engineering firm, Robert E. Lee & Associates.

New Chief Sworn In!

On Monday night, June 5th, the City of Algoma swore in its newest Chief of Police, David Allen. Chief Allen will fill the role vacated by Chief Randy Remiker’s retirement.
